WCYC - WEST COAST YACHT CLUB
WCYC - WEST COAST YACHT CLUB

Since 1931, WCYC has been cultivating friendships while cruising and sailing the Southern California coast and islands. WCYC is a non-landed yacht club with members, vessels and activities spanning the Southern California coast.
*Non-landed means that we have no clubhouse, restaurant or bar to support or maintain, resulting in the most affordable yacht club experience for members who share a love of sailing and cruising with like-minded friends

As a member of the Southern California Yachting Association since 1936, you can sail in any SCYA race under our burgee.

Members of WCYC enjoy reciprocal privileges with other yacht clubs from San Diego to Morro Bay. Reciprocal privileges may include access to guest slips, clubhouse, food service, and bar facilities. (Refer to the "Reciprocity" webpage for further information)
In July 1931, eight young men formed what is now the West Coast Yacht Club. Inasmuch as the charter members were building boats in their backyards, a sawhorse was selected as the keynote of the club burgee, and the original name was the HI-N-DRY yacht club. A combination of the school colors of the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California was chosen for the burgee, resulting in a sky-blue sawhorse superimposed upon a field of cardinal and gold.
Founded in Los Angeles, California, our membership now spans the Southern California coast.
Since the inception of WCYC, its burgee has been flown by members on cruises to many of the romantic ports on the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, and the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas, including such places as Alaska, New Zealand, and the Panama Canal.
